Project Overview
Karol from B.A.C Electrical contacted us for a design and supply of equipment to The Mediterranean, a vibrant and authentic Mediterranean restaurant in Norwich. They needed to upgrade their existing sound system, which was no longer meeting the demands of the venue. As a lively, characterful restaurant, the quality and atmosphere created by the audio system was important to the overall dining experience — the new system needed to deliver warm, high-quality sound that complemented the restaurant's welcoming environment.
The system also needed to be zonal, providing independent control over the main dining space and a separate private dining room available for private parties and celebrations. Audio Volt designed a solution running in low-impedance configuration to maximise output and performance across all areas.
The Sound System Explained
The HH Audio MZ-280Q forms the backbone of the system, delivering four independent zones of 280W Class D power. The main dining area was split across three of these zones and run in low-impedance, achieving greater output and improved audio performance throughout the space.
The private dining room was assigned its own dedicated zone (also run in low-impedance) giving staff independent volume and input control for party bookings and private events. This configuration gives the venue complete flexibility to tailor the audio in each area to suit the occasion.

Twelve of these premium ceiling speakers were installed across the main dining area and private dining room. The CM20T's slim, discreet profile in black allowed them to blend seamlessly into the restaurant's décor without compromising the aesthetic. Despite their low-profile design, they deliver a crystal-clear sound with a punchy, well-defined bass response, well suited to a restaurant environment where the quality of the listening experience matters as much as the quality of the food.

Two Bluetooth streamers were installed to provide simple, flexible audio playback for staff. Each unit supports both Bluetooth connectivity for wireless streaming from mobile devices and hard-wired inputs for connecting other source equipment, keeping day-to-day operation straightforward and hassle-free.

A 100-metre drum of TruSound 16/2 low-smoke halogen-free speaker cable was used throughout the installation, providing safe, reliable connections between the amplifier and all twelve ceiling speakers across both areas of the restaurant.
