Project Overview
Audio Volt worked alongside trusted installation partner Mainline Electrical Ltd to design and supply a PA system for Monster Mayhem at Star City, a busy children's play environment. The primary requirement was a system powerful enough to cut through the noise of an active, high-energy venue - ensuring both music playback and important PA announcements could be heard clearly at all times, regardless of how busy the venue was.
The solution needed to be straightforward to operate for venue staff, with reliable microphone options for both fixed-position and roaming announcements, alongside flexible music playback capabilities.

Q-Audio QMEDIAMIX52 Bluetooth Audio Mixer
The QMEDIAMIX52 serves as the control hub for the system, giving staff everything they need to manage audio in one straightforward unit.
Built-in Bluetooth, MP3 playback and FM radio provide flexible music source options, while the dedicated microphone channels - used here for both the PDM-300 desktop mic and the Chord XU1 wireless system - feature switchable VOX priority, automatically ducking the music whenever an announcement is made.

HH Audio TNi-W12PRO 12" Full Range 300W Loudspeakers
Four of these robust full-range loudspeakers were installed across the venue, with two running on each channel of the H2400 amplifier. The 12" drivers deliver the kind of output and projection needed to fill a large, open play environment with clear, impactful sound, whether that's background music during general play or a urgent PA announcement that needs to be heard immediately across the whole venue.

Monacor PDM-300 Desktop Paging Microphone
The Monacor PDM-300 provides a dedicated fixed microphone station for staff to make PA announcements from a set location, ideal for reception desks or staff areas where announcements are made regularly. Its straightforward, purpose-built design makes it easy for any member of staff to use without any technical knowledge.

Chord XU1 Wireless Handheld UHF Microphone System
Complementing the fixed desktop mic, the Chord XU1 wireless handheld system gives staff the freedom to move around the venue while making announcements — particularly useful in a large play environment where staff may need to address visitors from different areas. The UHF wireless system provides a reliable, interference-free signal throughout.

AudioKraft Apollo Speaker Cable
A 100-metre drum of AudioKraft Apollo speaker cable was used throughout the installation, with 11 Neutrik NL2FXX-W-S Speakon plugs terminating the connections between the amplifiers and speakers. Speakon connectors provide a secure, professional-grade connection that is well-suited to a venue environment where reliability is essential.

Project Outcome
Audio Volt, working in partnership with Mainline Electrical Ltd, designed and supplied a powerful, easy-to-use audio solution built specifically for the demands of a high-energy children's play venue.
The combination of a high-output amplifier, four full-range 12" loudspeakers, and a versatile mixer with built-in VOX priority ensures that both music and announcements cut through clearly - no matter how lively the venue gets.
Staff benefit from both a fixed desktop microphone for announcements from a set station and a wireless handheld for greater flexibility across the floor. The system has been successfully installed at Monster Mayhem and is working exactly as intended.
