It is supplied unterminated and sold per metre, so you can cut it to length for your own system and fit your preferred connectors. It suits stereo hi-fi setups where you want a clear upgrade over basic speaker cable.

Silver-Plated Oxygen-Free Copper

The conductors are silver-plated, 99.999% oxygen-free copper, QED’s SPOFC. Silver plating is intended to give a smooth sound with plenty of detail, while the high-purity copper core keeps resistance low. The conductors are arranged in a triple braid, specified as 5 x 16 x 0.1 mm.

X-Tube Technology

X-Tube is QED’s tube-shaped conductor design, which has an air core. It is intended to reduce the skin effect at high frequencies, helping the cable keep a more linear signal transfer. QED describes the result as greater bass extension and control, with added presence and clarity in the mid and upper mid range.

16AWG Construction

The cable has a cross-sectional area of 1.50 mm² (16AWG). The outer diameter is 3.90 mm, so it is easy to route behind furniture and along skirting boards. Electrical figures are low across the board, with loop resistance of 0.021 ohms per metre, capacitance of 50 pF per metre, inductance of 0.47 µH per metre and a dissipation factor of 0.0006.

Sold Per Metre, Unterminated

You choose the length, and the cable ends are supplied bare. That makes it easy to cut each run to size, and to fit plugs you prefer, such as banana plugs or spades, or to connect it directly to binding posts.
