Biamp PA2240BP 2-Channel 480W Bridgeable Power Amplifier 100V / 4Ω / 8Ω
The Biamp PA2240BP is a bridgeable 2-Channel Power Amplifier delivering 2 x 240W or 1 x 480W in bridged mode, with 100V line, 4Ω and 8Ω operation, 24V DC emergency power supply, priority contact closure override and EN60849 evacuation system compliance.
The Biamp PA2240BP is a bridgeable, ultra-reliable 2-channel 100V line power amplifier designed for the most demanding commercial installation and contractor audio applications. Configurable as a 2-channel amplifier delivering 2 x 240W — or bridged into a single-channel 480W amplifier for powering large groups of 100V line loudspeakers — the PA2240BP provides the output power and flexibility needed for large-scale distributed audio systems in retail, hospitality, education, corporate and public venue environments. Output voltage tappings at 100V, 70V, 50V and 35V alongside 4 Ohm low-impedance operation provide comprehensive compatibility with a wide range of 100V line and conventional speaker systems.
EN60849 Evacuation System Compliance
A key feature that sets the PA2240BP apart is its dual power supply capability — operating on both 230V AC mains and 24V DC emergency power. This makes the unit directly suitable for use in public address and voice evacuation systems compliant with the EN60849 regulation, where continued amplifier operation during a mains power failure is a critical life safety requirement. The emergency priority input — activated by contact closure — overrides the programme or music input to ensure emergency announcements are always broadcast clearly and reliably, regardless of the current programme source.
Dual Channel Priority Inputs & Tone Control
Both channels are equipped with a programme input and a priority input with independent bass and treble tone control — ensuring excellent sound performance even in tough acoustical conditions. The priority contact closure input per channel allows emergency or paging messages to automatically override the background music or programme source without manual intervention, and the 24V DC priority output provides integration with compatible paging and emergency system equipment. All amplifier controls are located on the rear panel — significantly reducing the risk of unauthorised or unintentional adjustment of system settings in public-facing commercial installations.
Fan-Cooled for Continuous High-Power Operation
The PA2240BP features active fan cooling for reliable thermal management during continuous high-power operation in demanding commercial installation environments, and is housed in a robust 2U 19" rack-mount enclosure for secure installation in any professional equipment rack.

60 Day Returns Policy
We ask that you follow these guidelines to help us process your return as quickly and efficiently as possible:
- Please keep your order reference to hand. This confirms your original order and gives us the necessary details to authorise the product's return.
- Contact our Customer Services Team on 02476 369890 (or email info@audiovolt.co.uk). We will then send you an RMA number and a returns form, which needs to be completed and sent back with the returned item(s).
- If the order has been unpacked, re-package it to ensure that it is being returned in its original condition. Please make sure all items relating to the product are returned, including manuals and cables.
- When returning an item, please obtain a proof of postage receipt from the courier.
Returned items must be mailed within 10 days of when the RMA number has been issued. Items received with a post date 30 days after your requested return will NOT be eligible for refund.
Please note: our returns policy is quite straightforward, but there are a number of conditions that we ask our customers to comply with before applying:
- It is your responsibility to request a return. If you don't tell us you want to make a return, we don't know. Once you do tell us, we will do everything we can to action it.
- If you have not requested a return within 60 days of receiving an order, we will assume that you are intending to keep it, and we will not authorise a return.
- We always refund the payment according to how the original purchase was made and aim to do so within 72 hours of the return being received by us.
- Returned goods are liable for a restocking fee of 15% towards handling and repackaging if the order is not returned in its original, unopened packaging. This charge will be subject to our inspection of the returned goods.
- Delivery charges will not be refunded unless the delivered goods are faulty.
- Replacement products are dispatched immediately after the returned goods have been received and accepted by Audio Volt.
- Items that develop a fault within 30 days of delivery are eligible for a replacement or a refund. Delivery costs are also reimbursed for faulty items. Please contact our Customer Services Team on 02476 369890 if you believe your item has developed a fault.
Finally, please remember that notifying us of your intention to apply for a return, saving the delivery paperwork and keeping the order in its original packaging will help both you and Audio Volt to process the return quickly.
