The Martin Audio CDD8 is a powerful, ultra-compact wall speaker designed for high-output architectural audio applications.
The Martin Audio CDD8 is an ultra-compact two-way passive loudspeaker system designed to deliver high-output, full-range performance from a discreet enclosure. It is well suited to a wide range of commercial environments including live music venues, nightclubs, bars, restaurants, museums, convention centres, hotels, retail outlets and houses of worship.
At the heart of the CDD8 is Martin Audio’s patented Coaxial Differential Dispersion™ (CDD) technology, which provides more consistent audience coverage than traditional fixed-dispersion loudspeakers. This design projects relatively more output towards the rear of the audience while maintaining wide horizontal coverage close to the speaker, ensuring even sound distribution throughout the space.
The CDD8 features an integrated 8” (200mm) low-frequency driver and a 1” exit high-frequency compression driver in a true coaxial configuration. This point-source design eliminates off-axis frequency anomalies associated with non-coaxial systems, delivering smooth and natural sound across the entire coverage area. The integrated static waveguide further enhances high-frequency dispersion, maintaining consistent coverage and reducing beaming at higher frequencies.
Housed in a sleek composite enclosure, the CDD8 can be mounted in either horizontal or vertical orientation, with the coaxial driver easily rotatable by removing the screw-free protective grille. Optional wall and ceiling brackets allow the speaker to be surface-mounted close to walls or ceilings, making it ideal for visually unobtrusive installations.
With a nominal impedance of 8 ohms and power handling of 200W AES, the CDD8 is suitable for both background and medium-to-high level foreground music applications. It can be used as a standalone loudspeaker or as an infill speaker in distributed systems alongside larger CDD models such as the CDD12 and CDD15. The CDD8 is finished in black (RAL9005) or white (RAL9016) as standard and can be supplied in any RAL colour to order.
