TruSound 12/4 B2ca-s1a 4-Core 4.00mm (12AWG) LSHF Speaker Cable - Violet, 100m Drum

The TruSound 12/4 is a CPR-rated B2ca 4-Core 4.0mm LSHF Speaker Cable, engineered for 100V line and low impedance installs in public buildings and high-rise developments.
The TruSound 12/4 B2ca speaker cable is the correct specification choice for fixed 100V line and low impedance audio installations in environments including schools and universities, hospitals and healthcare facilities, airports and transport hubs, cinemas and theatres, hotels and hospitality venues, offices and commercial buildings, high-rise residential tower blocks, underground rail networks, tunnels and stations.
What is B2ca and Why Does it Matter?
For contractors, installers, electricians and specifiers working on projects in schools, hospitals, airports, hotels, offices, high-rise residential developments, underground rail networks and other high-occupancy or high-risk environments, cable fire safety classification is not optional — it is a legal and regulatory requirement. The TruSound 12/4 achieves a B2ca-s1a, d1, a1 CPR classification under EN50575:2014+A1:2016, one of the highest Euroclass fire ratings available for cables under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR).
B2ca indicates extremely limited flame spread and minimal heat release in the event of a fire. The additional classifications are equally important: s1a denotes very low smoke production, d1 indicates no flaming droplets or particles, and a1 confirms minimal acidity of combustion gases. Combined with its Low Smoke Halogen Free (LSHF) construction, the TruSound 12/4 produces minimal smoke and releases no toxic halogen gases in a fire situation — helping to maintain safe evacuation routes and limiting damage to sensitive equipment and building infrastructure.
The Ultimate in Fixed Installation Speaker Cable
The TruSound 12/4 represents the most capable and heavy-duty option in the TruSound B2ca speaker cable range — combining the heaviest available conductor gauge with a four-core configuration for the most demanding permanent fixed installation scenarios. The 4-core 4.0mm (12AWG) construction is the ideal specification choice for complex, high-power installations where multiple circuits, extended cable runs and maximum current carrying capacity are all required simultaneously. Whether used for dual-zone high-power low impedance feeds, bi-amplified main speaker trunk runs, large-scale 100V line distribution networks or combined signal and return paths across airports, underground rail networks, large hospitals and similar high-demand environments, the TruSound 12/4 provides the headroom, reliability and fire safety compliance that the most critical installations demand. The stranded oxygen-free bare copper conductors ensure exceptional signal conductivity and long-term reliability, whilst the dual-layer Low Smoke Halogen Free insulation and sheathing provide robust mechanical protection alongside the cable's outstanding fire performance credentials.
The distinctive violet sheath makes the TruSound 12/4 immediately identifiable on site and within installation pathways — a practical benefit for installers and maintenance engineers working within complex multi-cable building environments. The four cores are identified by Red, Blue, Black and White colour coding for straightforward and consistent termination throughout the installation.
Compliance You Can Rely On
The TruSound 12/4 carries a comprehensive suite of compliance certifications to give contractors, specifiers and building control professionals complete confidence in the product. In addition to its B2ca CPR classification, the cable is compliant with BS EN 60332-1-2 for flame retardancy, BS EN 61034-2 for low smoke generation and BS EN 60754-1&2 for halogen gas emission. It is RoHS and CE compliant under LVD (2014/35/EU) and CPR (305/2011), and has been UV and weather tested to ISO 4892-3 for reliable performance in exposed installation environments. The cable carries a voltage rating of 450/750V and has been test voltage rated at 2.5kV for 5 minutes.
