At the core of the PSX1204D is Bose's innovative power-sharing technology, developed in partnership with Powersoft. Rather than locking each channel to a fixed power allocation, the amplifier dynamically distributes its 1200W across all four outputs — either evenly or asymmetrically — depending on the demands of the system at any given moment. This intelligent approach can reduce the need for a higher-powered amplifier model, potentially delivering real cost savings on larger projects without compromising on performance.
Output flexibility is another key strength. The PSX1204D is capable of handling both low-impedance loads (2, 4 and 8Ω) and high-impedance 70V and 100V loudspeaker lines, making it equally at home in a traditional installed audio system or a distributed 100V line setup. Four analogue inputs provide standard line-level connections, while built-in Dante networking supports up to four digital input channels directly from a Dante network — with no additional network card required.
